There is breaking news to report regarding Saturday night's "Gateway to Greatness" event at Scottrade Center.  Promoter Don King has announced that Floyd "Money" Mayweather, Evander "The Real Deal" Holyfield and "Iron" Mike Tyson will attend.

This story is blowing up in the boxing world.  Don's been courting Floyd "Money" Mayweather Jr. for the past few weeks, wining and dining with him in South Florida.  Manny Pacquiao's promoter, Bob Arum, says that if Don King signed "Money," the superfight between Floyd and Pacquiao would get made.

Khan Calls Out Bradley

Amir Khan has called out Timothy Bradley after the American's successful step up to welterweight.

Bradley out-pointed Luis Carlos Abregu on his welterweight debut on Saturday, but still plans to campaign at light-welterweight where he holds the WBO title.

WBA light-welterweight champ Khan says he would love to fight Bradley and says he will ask his American promoters Golden Boy to try and make the contest.

Speaking on his twitter page, Khan tweeted: "I'll fight Tim Bradley. It's the first time he's called me out.

"I'm going to Vegas and I'll talk to Golden Boy. I would love the fight. Good style for me. I'm fighting Timothy Bradley next. I'm gonna tell Golden Boy. Let's see if they want it for real. Talk is cheap."

Golden Boy might have other ideas and CEO Richard Schaefer wants to arrange an autumn fight for Khan against the winner of Juan Diaz and Juan Manuel Marquez, which is in Las Vegas on July 31.

Bradley vs Maidana Cancelled

World Boxing Association interim super lightweight champion MARCOS "El Pollo" MAIDANA pulled out of his fight against undefeated World Boxing Organization junior welterweight champion TIMOTHY “Desert Storm” BRADLEY today.  The public news conference scheduled for Tuesday, May 4 at Agua Caliente Casino Resort Spa in Rancho Mirage, Calif. is canceled.

Gary Shaw, who co-promotes Bradley with Thompson Boxing Promotions, received a call from Eric Gomez, Vice President/Matchmaker of Golden Boy Promotions, Maidana's co-promoter, moments ago informing him that Maidana was pulling out of the fight.

"Eric told me Maidana missed his flight to the U.S. and later in the same conversation told me Maidana's back was still injured and that he would not be fighting Timmy on July 17," said Shaw.  "Obviously Maidana's back was not getting any better and a call to us last week from Team Maidana would have been the professional thing to do.  But HBO and Agua Caliente are standing behind Timmy and his July 17 date, and I expect to announce Timmy's new opponent soon."

Phil Cooper, executive director of marketing for Agua Caliente Casino Resort Spa said the development is a disappointment: "Certainly this is not what we expected, however we're excited about what Gary has in the works."
