What has boxing come to?

It didn't take long for Manny Pacquiao to respond to Floyd Mayweather's racist remarks, did it?

In a video interview on Youtube (you can watch the video at the bottom), Pacquiao called the remarks "an uneducated message", Pacquiao claims he has yet to see the web video made by Mayweather in which the 5 weight champion called Pacquiao such racist names as "poochie" and also said that he will force him to make "sushi rolls and cook some rice".

John Arum Found Dead

SEATTLE — A search helicopter spotted the body of the son of boxing promoter Bob Arum on a Washington state mountainside Friday afternoon, five days after searchers began looking for him in North Cascades National Park, authorities said.

The body belonging to John Arum, an experienced mountain climber, was seen at about the 7,700-foot level of the 8,500-foot Storm King mountain, park spokeswoman Kerry Olson said.

It wasn't possible Friday afternoon to either reach or retrieve the body, but Olson said it was clear to searchers in the helicopter that the 49-year-old Seattle environmental attorney was dead.

Marquez vs Katsidis

Lightweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez has agreed to fight Michael Katsidis at the MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas on Nov. 27.

Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer said Marquez has accepted the terms of a deal to defend his WBO belt against Katsidis, the all-action Australian slugger.

Schaefer outlined a busy fall for his company's fighters during a workout in Hollywood on Wednesday by Sugar Shane Mosley, who will meet Sergio Mora at Staples Center on Sept. 18.

Marquez (51-5-1, 37 KOs) generally is considered Mexico's top boxer. He decisively won a rematch with Juan Diaz on July 31 in his first fight since losing to Floyd Mayweather Jr. last year.

Lee “Lights out” Purdy returns to the ring on the undercard of the exciting “Night of International Boxing” at York Hall, Bethnal Green on Friday 10th September. This will be Lee’s first time back in the ring since his gripping 12 round unanimous point’s decision loss for the Commonwealth title against Denton Vassell in April.

Pascal vs Hopkins announced for December 18th!

It was announced yesterday by ESPN that Bernard Hopkins will fight WBC and IBO Light-Heavyweight champion, Jean Pascal, on December 18th!

The 45 year old will have been inactive for 8 months since his decisive victory over Roy Jones back in April in a fight that failed decisively, financially.

Jean Pascal is coming off an impressive win over Chad Dawson, a fight that many thought would define his foe.

Pacquiao vs Margarito Tickets On Sale

Ten-time world champions CONGRESSMAN MANNY PACQUIAO and ANTONIO MARGARITO, of the Philippines and México, respectively, collide in the most exciting and intriguing fight of the year with the vacant World Boxing Council (WBC) super welterweight championship and the No. 1 pound for pound title at stake.

Pacquiao and Margarito boast a combined record of 89-9-2 (65 KOs) -- a winning percentage of 89% and a victory by knockout ratio of 73%

Jerry Jones and Bob Arum, owner of the Dallas Cowboys and chairman of Top Rank, respectively, announced today that Cowboys Stadium would be the site of MANNY PACQUIAO vs. ANTONIO MARGARITO, World Super Welterweight Championship. Press conference announces Pacquiao vs Margarito

This evening, 7pm GMT time, promoter Bob Arum hosted a press conference to promote the Pay Per Ciew event between Manny Pacquiao and Antonio Margarito.


The fight will be taking place on November 13th, 2010 and is for the WBC  Light-Middleweight crown.


Both Margarito and Pacquiao looked happy and relaxed to be there with both boxers smiling and listening to Arum talk extensively about such issues as the infamous hand wrap scandal involving Margarito, declaring with conviction that there was not one single shred of evidence that he wore anything illegal in those hand wraps before his 2008 bout with Shane Mosley.

Sam Peter Talks About Klitschko

Sam Peter (34-3, 27 KOs), is in his final week of training camp in the high altitude of Big Bear, Calif.  A native of Nigeria, now fighting out of Las Vegas, Nev., Peter will break camp on September 2 and head to Frankfurt, Germany to challenge IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (54-3, 48 KOs.) Promoted by KMG and K2, in association with Top Rank, Klitschko vs. Peter will take place Saturday, September 11 at the Commerzbank Arena in Frankfurt

This is a big day. Samuel peter has been training for weeks in Big Bear for the opportunity for fight Wladimir Klitschko in Frankfurt. Germany.  He is here with his long time manager Ivaylo Gotsev, his trainer Abel Sanchez and Tom Loeffler from K2 Promotions who will tell us about the September event in Germany.
